I've got another question, Miles. Who the hell are you? I mean that in a respectful but teasing way. Like, you're this middle-aged guy with a kid and a wife but you like to come to shows when you can. Are you one of these guys that is ska'd for life or what? Your flicker account stretches back to last year and beyond but after going through it I am still no closer to understanding the dancing, (never heavily) drinking, skateboarding enigma that is milesgehm. Introduce yourself!

I've been trying to figure it [Who the hell am I?] out for many years. I've consulted with psychiatrists in two countries. No answers. My wife has been practicing Buddhism for several years and some of it has worn off on me. I've decided that it is a poorly posed question! I dance because it is fun. Sometimes really fun. And every once in a while when the music and crowd is right, I can feel Jah. That is pure joy.

| Actually it just doesnt feel right to me to be at a Bay area Ska show and NOT have Miles there, a "pilar" of the Ska community? I think so. |

My guess is about 30-45 or so to try and pump through most of the bands to allow Hooligans/Monkey the most set time (45-60 min)
Not that I actually know or anything, just guessing.

Thats a pretty solid guestimate Tiddles, now go get me a tub of nuts!
Doors are at 8pm 4 Acts 1 is an acoustic set, so it can't be much more than 30 minuts I think Monkey is shooting to be playing at 11ish and I'm pretty sure the venue closes at midnight, but seriously do not qoute me on that
Just wanted to give people a rough outline of the nights festivties. I am seriously looking foward to this show, I was listening to Los H and Minus Vince yesterday and was totally psyching myself out for this show, its as solid a line up as can be had really.
On another note, I was on the Weather Channels website today and its calling for rain (EVIL THING) and Thundershowers (EVEN MORE EVIL THING) Please don't let these weather conditions dictate your descision on attending this show. The NorCal scene needs this regular show and this regular 18+ venue, we've been calling for it for too long to let the club decide that its not a big enough event and shut it down after only 1 show... that would suck.
Much love everyone! Looking foward to tonight! Skank it up Miles! Skank the World Everyone! |
